FOUNDATION ONE: Release Class: 7pm (UK) Wednesdays (40 mins)
All Levels
Here we work with the basics, setting up the frame of the body, finding our connection with the mat, creating length in the spine to make room for the breath & then challenging stability with mobility.
We establish the areas we need to release, & those we need to strengthen, & begin moving the body through all planes of movement.
The focus of these Foundational Pilates Classes is to prepare mind and body for the Classical Mat, bringing about balance in order to recenter, restore & renew. -
FOUNDATION TWO: Strength Class: 2pm (UK) Wednesdays (40 mins)
All Levels
Building on from the Foundation One Release Class, we set about building strength, having the foundations of the Pilates Technique in place. Always recapping on alignment of the frame in order to build in balance, we begin breaking down some of the Classical Mat exercises & move the spine through flexion, extension & rotation.
As we journey through these classes, we will become increasingly aware of areas that are restricting our movement, & so use the genius of this Work to bring about change. -
MAGIC CIRCLE MAGIC: 2pm (UK) Mondays (60 mins)
Intermediate
Ideal for those working well with Foundation One & Two Classes.
Here we use the genius of the Magic Circle, a Classical Pilates piece of equipment, to focus on building strength & connectedness through midline & Powerhouse, as we progress to the Classical Mat exercises.
I will cue you through a balanced selection of the Classical Mat using the Magic Circle to both support & challenge the Work, helping you find a deeper connection to your Centre.
It will be fun!!! -
LAYERED Classical Pilates Mat Class: 5pm (UK) Fridays (60 mins)
Intermediate/Adv
The Classical Pilates Matwork Repertoire is challenging. So here I layer a balanced selection of the Repertoire to make the genius of the Work accessible to all..
I would always recommend working through the Foundation One ‘Release’ & Foundation Two ‘Strength’ Classes first as it is this Work that prepares the body to fully access these Classical Mat Classes.
The focus is building Stamina as we move from one classic to the next, but always adhering to the Foundation of the Work from which we build with length & strength. -
THE COMPLETE CLASSICAL MAT: 5pm (UK) Last Friday of Every Month (60 mins)
Advanced
For the advanced student, with working knowledge of the order of the repertoire.
Here we move through all 34 Classical Pilates Exercises, with focus on set up, but simply naming & cueing the reps as we move.
Each student should be able to modify each classic as necessary & appropriate to their own individual mind & body.
We will move continuously through each of the exercises to build stamina & flow, as originally taught with transitions from one to the next.
